Welcome to Faculty of Technical Sciences
The Faculty of Technical Sciences was founded on 18th May 1960 as the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Novi Sad and was originally a part of the University of Belgrade. When the University of Novi Sad is founded on 28th June 1960, the Faculty, together with six other faculties founded by that time on the territory of Vojvodina, becomes its constituent part.
The establishment of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering was the reason for the change in the name of the Faculty into the Faculty of Technical Sciences on 22nd April 1974. Since then the Faculty also developed the programs of study in the areas of:
- Traffic Engineering - in 1979
- Architecture - in 1996
- Industrial Engineering and Management, Environmental Engineering and Graphic Engineering and Design in 1999
- Mechatronics starting from 2002
This type of structure ranks the Faculty of Technical Sciences among the most highly developed technical institutions in the country.
Today, the Faculty covers an area of 30 000m2 occupying the central position at the University campus on the river Danube. This area is divided into several neighbouring buildings: the F Block, the “Tower” building, the Teaching Block, the Research and Technology Centre, the amphitheatres, the Mechanical Engineering Institutes, the “TMD” building and the Large Systems Control Centre.
